What to do on Tioman Island? There are numerous activities for travellers to Tioman Island, let us list the main things to do here:
Scuba Diving
Scuba diving is clearly one of the main activities on Tioman Island.
Find out more and enrol with us for your diving activity on our diving pages.
There are other fun things to do on the island if you fancy a days break from diving or if you are coming with non-diving friends.
Tioman is a Marine Park so no fishing or motorized watersports are allowed. Here’s what else you can do on our tropical island:
Snorkeling
The housereef in ABC offer some fantastic snorkelling and all you need to do is rent some snorkelling gear and jump in the water.
If you’d rather explore the reefs at Coral Island, Renggis Island or the Marinepark then head to one of the local operators. They offer various trips by speedboat. Costs depend on the number of participants and the locations.
Round the island trip
Many local operators offer round the island trips. They bring you by speedboat to Juara on the eastern side of Tioman. From there you go all the way south to visit Mukut and the Asah waterfall before having lunch in Paya Village. Your next stop is likely to be Renggis Island, a perfect spot for snorkelling. And finally they are likely to bring you to the Marine Park, again for snorkelling, before returning to base.
Costs will depend on the number of passengers (estimate some +/- MYR 150.00 per person).
Rainforest Trekking
Tioman is densely covered in some of the oldest rainforest in the world. Exploring the jungle is a must if you’ve never hiked in a rainforest before. There are several short and long trails available:
– ABC to Turtle Bay (+/- 1 ½ hours/way)
– ABC to Monkey Bay (+/- 2 hours/way)
– Tekek to Juara (+/- 3 hours/way)

Sea Kayaking
Sea kayaking is a fantastic adventure. If you’re fit enough, you can kayak all the way to famous Monkey Bay or Turtle Beach. Do not try to attempt to go all the way to Coral Island. It’s further than it looks. Costs for kayak rental are in the range of MYR 15.00 per hour.
Rock Climbing
Rock climbing in the south of Tioman Island is fantastic but unfortunately there is no professional outfit offering it anymore. This means that you need to be experienced and will have to bring your own gear and just to get there by speedboat can be quite expensive.
There are news that a local certified hiking and rock climbing guide is providing these services. Call +60 12 956 1326 to find out more.
