PADI Discover Scuba Diving
Get a glimpse into scuba diving with the DSD program
Have you ever wondered what it’s like to breathe underwater? If you want to find out but aren’t quite ready to take the plunge into a certification course then join our PADI Discover Scuba Diving program (aka DSD), which allows you to try scuba diving first to see if you like it.
While not an actual scuba certification, during the Discover Scuba Diving experience you’ll learn how to use scuba equipment in shallow water and get a quick and easy introduction to what it takes to explore the underwater world.
You will learn the basics of diving under the direct supervision of our PADI Professionals.
Pool & Beach Option
You will get your first scuba experience in our swimming pool where our PADI Instructor will take you to try out the basics of scuba diving. After practicing some necessary skills in the pool you’ll be going on a shore dive where you will find yourself gliding along the reefs and fishes of Tioman Island. This dive will take you to a maximum depth of 12 meters and the whole duration of our DSD program is around 2hrs to 3hrs.
Boat Option
If you’ve done a DSD program with us or someone else before then you can join our boat options. Depending on your experience we might take you first into our swimming pool and/or from shore before heading out for some boat dives in the vicinity of famous Coral Island.
Your instructor will give you a three part experience which consists of a short briefing on equipment, pressure and the marine life followed by your first confined water dive where you will learn the basics. Next you’ll experience an amazing dive (or dives) to a maximum depth of 12metres in the warm, clear waters of Tioman.
Extra DSD Dives
We can offer you additional DSD shore or boat dives on the spot just in case you get hooked after your DSD program yet don’t have enough time to conduct a full PADI course.

Nitrox add-on
Another great option is to combine your AOW course together with the PADI Enriched Air Specialty (Nitrox aka EANx). Diving on Nitrox gives you the advantage of longer bottom times, which is especially important on deeper dives. It further provides additional safety on shallower dives and you will also feel less tired if you dive on Nitrox compared to normal air It is as such no surprise that this is the most sought after course in the world!

PADI Emergency First Response
Knowing what to do when others are in need of medical assistance
First Aid and CPR are good skills for anyone involved in adventure sports – just in case. And you need these skills to participate in the PADI Rescue Diver course.
Emergency First Response is a PADI affiliate that specializes in teaching these lifesaving skills – and they’re for anyone, not just divers.
The fun part about the EFR training is learning serious medical emergency response skills in an upbeat, positive environment. You gain the confidence so that you are prepared to help in an emergency.
Course information
The program includes an academic part including the self-study of the EFR participant manual and a practical part where you will get a hand-on experience in BLS (Basic Life Support) and First Aid.
- Primary Care (CPR)– This course teaches you the steps and techniques for handling life-threatening emergencies. You’ll practice eight skills for aiding patients who aren’t breathing, have no heartbeat, may have a spinal injury, may be in shock or who may have serious bleeding. You’ll learn to how to perform CPR and continue to monitor the patient so that you provide every possible chance of survival while waiting for emergency medical services to arrive.
- Secondary Care (First Aid)– Because many medical conditions are not life-threatening and emergency medical services are sometimes delayed or unavailable, this course teaches you how to provide first aid that eases pain and reduces the risk of further harm. You’ll learn to assess a variety of injuries and illnesses and practice bandaging and splinting.
